University Students Busted Offering Sh800K Bribe

Two university students were Wednesday arraigned in court after being busted trying to offer Sh820,000 to be included into the graduation list.

Jecinta Mugure and Joan Wanjiru from Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) were accused of giving the money to the school’s Deputy Registrar Academic Affairs to include them on the graduation list.

The offence is said to have been committed on October 27 when the students realised they were not in the list of those set to graduate the following day.

Appearing before the Anti-Corruption court, the two were charged with “corruptly offering a benefit” to graduate with a law degree.
